Another Month

Oh gosh where to start. It has been a busy month.

I guess I will start with Gabe. He is starting to eat real food. No more baby food for him! He is becoming more willing to try new foods the only problem is finding things he can eat. His favorite thing at the moment is dipping green beans in apple sauce, he does it with carrots too. lol

I took Gabe to his post surgery check up and everything is going great in that area, however the Dr. found out he had and ear infection in both ears. My poor baby. Anyway he was on antibiotics for 10 days and has just finished and is back to his old self.

Sean and I have decided to start potty training Gabe which is going to be interesting. We all have potties now Gabe picked out the frog. He is totally my boy :) Wish us luck!

We also found out that Gabe is going to be a big brother. Sean & Cristy are having a baby. Should be due in January sometime.

Lets see whats new with me, well I have finished Accounting 1 and I am out of school for 3 weeks before I start Accounting 2. Tax season is over which has calmed things down. I have been selling Gabe's old baby clothes. I took them to Childrens Orchard, and what I didn't sell to them I am going to put in a Garage sale, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

This past week my Granny Kite went to the hospital. She was afraid that she had a stroke and some of the Doctors thought she might have needed a pacemaker. Anyway in the end they decided that she needed to change her blood pressure medication, because it was getting to low and that is why she was passing out. She is home now and doing yard work like nothing ever happened.

Patrick has been super busy, it seems like he is always working even after work. He has been mowing yards which has kept him going. And yet hes always looking for more work. He really just amazes me I have no idea how he works so hard. Oh and somehow he still finds time to go fishing. lol :)

Now for the holidays, Easter & Mothers Day. Well Gabe was sick on Easter so Sean and I took turns watching him between our activities. I went with Patrick, Shawn & Wesson to Cairo for and Easter lunch and the kids went on an Easter egg hunt. Now for Mothers day. My parents watched Gabe the night before so I slept in till 11:30 which was a very nice way to start the day then I went to get my baby and spent the rest of the day with him. We didn't do anything exciting just went to walmart and hung out.

Hello again

So it has definitely been a while since I have updated you guys on everything. Lets see...

I have started back to school, I am taking accounting 1 at Columbia College. I was worried at first because it does take out a little bit of the time that I get to spend with Gabe but my teacher normally lets me out of class 15 or 30 min early which gets me home to Gabe sooner than expected. I am really enjoying it. I like my teacher which is so important. And on the superficial side its really pretty there :) all the trees have been in bloom and I have been enjoying it.

Gabe has had his Circumcision revision!! Hallelujah!!! It has been such a long tough road. He was sick then his full coverage insurance ran out then the new insurance claimed it was a pre-existing condition then we got different insurance which worked and then of course he was sick AGAIN ugg but we have now officially gotten it all done and accomplished and we never have to do it again. He was a little sensitive to having his diaper changed for about a week or so but he is doing SOOO much better now. All we have to do now is have his check up in a few weeks to make sure everything is healing up just as they planned.

I have started to work part-time over at Ashland again, its getting to be the busy time of the year again. People are coming in and wanting to see apartments and calling in non stop. I am also splitting my time with the PC and of course it is tax season which is always a treat. Busy busy busy.

Patrick and I are doing great and I love seeing the boys on the weekends. It's nice that Gabe has other little people to play with. We all go to church together which is nice, one of my favorite parts is that Gabe goes to kid crest, he gets to play with other kids and its without mommy and daddy so hes learning some social skills that way. From what they tell me he is still pretty quiet but he doesn't cry when I drop him off any more which is awesome. He is getting to be a big boy.

Yesterday Patrick cut down the stump in the front yard(it was starting to be attacked by termites and we just cant have that) and he is gonna grow me some grass lol I'm kinda excited to tell you the truth I'm pretty sure my yard has just been weeds well for at least 21years lol. Anyway all the boys were out helping rake and pick up leaves it was kinda cool having a little yard working crew :)

Today is my mommy's birthday she is 29 again lol at least that's what my daddy tells me. We are going to dinner at Chevy's tonight. Yummy yummy.

Oh and one more thing, it is cold today (like you didn't know), and it was beautiful yesterday and I want that beautiful weather back please. I was actually outside for most of the day.

Allergist

Went to the allergist on Thursday. Just about the only thing that changed was Gabe can have milk if it is cooked at a high temperature, in something else. No changes other than that. So we are still working with our little list. :( oh well at least nothing got worse.

Pictures & Misc

We got Gabe's Pictures done on Saturday they are really cute. I'm getting a CD with them on it so I can print as many as I want and so I don't loose any of them. :) I will post a few on the first when I get my CD. I am very excited.

I got my first ever massage last week on Friday. It was really nice just to relax. If I had the money I am sure I would go more often. :)

Gabe's surgery is still planned for the 11th of March so cross your fingers that everything works out as planned. So far he is doing good (knock on wood).

Getting Gabe to Eat

Today I took Gabe to a speech therapist. We played with toys and had a picnic. There is nothing wrong with his speech, she was very happy with the way and how much he talks. The whole idea of this appointment was to figure out why he isn't eating and if he will take a bite why he doesn't swallow.

We have pretty much determined due to the reflux that he has experienced in the past he is afraid to put anything in his mouth that he isn't use to. The plan is to slowly transfer him over to mashed foods like sweet potatoes and bananas and things, instead of the pureed baby foods. We are also supposed to give him regular foods like slices of bananas or green beans. In the end he is supposed to have all 3 types of food on the same plate. Hopefully he will start to feel more comfortable with it soon. She seemed to think that if we showed him one of his toys eating a carrot that he might be more willing to pick up the carrot and try it too.

In addition to this we are supposed to go in on the 4th for a Upper GI x-ray and a swallow study to make sure there isn't anything other than his emotions holding him back.

We are also supposed to go to the allergist on Thursday this week. I am hoping they will knock one or two things off of his bad list, so he has more choices.

GABE IS TWO!!!!!!!

Gabe just had his birthday on Saturday. He had three parties and a very busy weekend. Here are some pictures from the two parties he had with mommy.

Ears

Cake - he had to lick it lol

Time for Presents
These are from the family b-day party on Sunday :)

WOW!!
He just had his 2yr check up today. He is growing as expected. They want us to cut his his milk down to 3 glasses a day and not let him have it out of bottles anymore. They also want him to start eating big people food. I agree with all of this and knew that was what they were gonna tell me, but getting Gabe over the hump to do this stuff, and at the same time, is going to be a rough road. He seems to have trouble chewing and swallowing I just don't know if he really has trouble or if he just doesn't like the texture of the real food as apposed to baby food.

MY 2 YEAR OLD

So got my taxes done and we r supposed to be getting $1100 back, which is nice but I must say that I was wanting more. It is all going to Gabe's surgery, it will be nice to have that chunk paid off.

On Friday Patrick and I and all 3 of the boys are going to have a movie night with Abbi and Connor at Connors house. I don't know who else is going to be there, but with three little boys they better watch out lol. I think the kids are giving everyone a reason to watch Disney movies all night. lol They are all a bunch of big kids don't let them tell you other wise. Should make for a fun night.

Gabe's Birthday is Saturday and he has a fun filled weekend of parties planned. I have a feeling he is gonna be worn out when it's all over. He has his daddy's party on Saturday at 12, and Mommy's party is at 6. He even has a party on Sunday at 2. He is one busy boy. He really is getting so big.

The last couple of weeks he has been feeding himself. He did it from time to time before, but now he does it for every meal. He sits like a big boy in his booster seat, at the dining room table. He has his spoon action down, he doesn't even flip the spoon over any more. I am so proud. I have been trying to get him to chew things, like real Green beans, bananas and carrots. He just doesn't know what to do with it, but is getting a little better at chewing. I wish we could get him on real food. I just have to convince him of that.

I have gotten my class picked out for Columbia College, and have to register on Monday. I will start classes on March 15. It will be 10 months since I took a class. Hopefully only taking one class wont kill me, I am working full time, this time around, where before I was only working part time, and I was a full time student. We will see how all of this works out.

Next week we have lots of appointments, Gabe has his 2 yr check up and we are wanting to take him to the allergist again and have him retested. Should be a fun busy week.
