Allergist

Went to the allergist on Thursday. Just about the only thing that changed was Gabe can have milk if it is cooked at a high temperature, in something else. No changes other than that. So we are still working with our little list. :( oh well at least nothing got worse.

Pictures & Misc

We got Gabe's Pictures done on Saturday they are really cute. I'm getting a CD with them on it so I can print as many as I want and so I don't loose any of them. :) I will post a few on the first when I get my CD. I am very excited.

I got my first ever massage last week on Friday. It was really nice just to relax. If I had the money I am sure I would go more often. :)

Gabe's surgery is still planned for the 11th of March so cross your fingers that everything works out as planned. So far he is doing good (knock on wood).

Getting Gabe to Eat

Today I took Gabe to a speech therapist. We played with toys and had a picnic. There is nothing wrong with his speech, she was very happy with the way and how much he talks. The whole idea of this appointment was to figure out why he isn't eating and if he will take a bite why he doesn't swallow.

We have pretty much determined due to the reflux that he has experienced in the past he is afraid to put anything in his mouth that he isn't use to. The plan is to slowly transfer him over to mashed foods like sweet potatoes and bananas and things, instead of the pureed baby foods. We are also supposed to give him regular foods like slices of bananas or green beans. In the end he is supposed to have all 3 types of food on the same plate. Hopefully he will start to feel more comfortable with it soon. She seemed to think that if we showed him one of his toys eating a carrot that he might be more willing to pick up the carrot and try it too.

In addition to this we are supposed to go in on the 4th for a Upper GI x-ray and a swallow study to make sure there isn't anything other than his emotions holding him back.

We are also supposed to go to the allergist on Thursday this week. I am hoping they will knock one or two things off of his bad list, so he has more choices.

WOW!!

He just had his 2yr check up today. He is growing as expected. They want us to cut his his milk down to 3 glasses a day and not let him have it out of bottles anymore. They also want him to start eating big people food. I agree with all of this and knew that was what they were gonna tell me, but getting Gabe over the hump to do this stuff, and at the same time, is going to be a rough road. He seems to have trouble chewing and swallowing I just don't know if he really has trouble or if he just doesn't like the texture of the real food as apposed to baby food.

MY 2 YEAR OLD

So got my taxes done and we r supposed to be getting $1100 back, which is nice but I must say that I was wanting more. It is all going to Gabe's surgery, it will be nice to have that chunk paid off.

On Friday Patrick and I and all 3 of the boys are going to have a movie night with Abbi and Connor at Connors house. I don't know who else is going to be there, but with three little boys they better watch out lol. I think the kids are giving everyone a reason to watch Disney movies all night. lol They are all a bunch of big kids don't let them tell you other wise. Should make for a fun night.

Gabe's Birthday is Saturday and he has a fun filled weekend of parties planned. I have a feeling he is gonna be worn out when it's all over. He has his daddy's party on Saturday at 12, and Mommy's party is at 6. He even has a party on Sunday at 2. He is one busy boy. He really is getting so big.

The last couple of weeks he has been feeding himself. He did it from time to time before, but now he does it for every meal. He sits like a big boy in his booster seat, at the dining room table. He has his spoon action down, he doesn't even flip the spoon over any more. I am so proud. I have been trying to get him to chew things, like real Green beans, bananas and carrots. He just doesn't know what to do with it, but is getting a little better at chewing. I wish we could get him on real food. I just have to convince him of that.

I have gotten my class picked out for Columbia College, and have to register on Monday. I will start classes on March 15. It will be 10 months since I took a class. Hopefully only taking one class wont kill me, I am working full time, this time around, where before I was only working part time, and I was a full time student. We will see how all of this works out.

Next week we have lots of appointments, Gabe has his 2 yr check up and we are wanting to take him to the allergist again and have him retested. Should be a fun busy week.

No Pictures....

Well I had planned to have Gabe's pictures taken for his second birthday yesterday. I was very excited. However on Friday my baby boy was at my grandparents house and ran into a table. His little nose has been so dry due to the weather and the cold he has been getting over. When he hit the table the skin under his nose cracked, and bled a little. Anyway I decided to postpone the pictures a week or so. I want him to be all adorable in his b-day pictures, and not have a red spot under his nose.

I gave my boss all of my info for my tax return on Friday so hopefully I will have that done soon. We need the refund to pay for Gabe's surgery when we finally get it done.
Well I think that is about all I have for now.

Still Getting Better

Hello everyone, sorry it has been a couple of weeks since I have updated. We have been pretty busy.

First I will give you an update on my sickness:
I had another turn for the worse and went to see the doctor. He gave me a z pack and told me that I either had a sinus infection or Mono. If the z pack didn't help in 6 days, which was a Monday, then its probably mono. I then stayed home Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. I didn't do anything for three days. I just stayed at home and slept. I could only stay awake for maybe an hour at a time. Anyway I am happy to say that the z pack worked because I am feeling so much better :) and I can even breath through my nose again...YAY.

Moriah and Aden came over on the 18th, It was awesome to catch up on stuff I feel like I was so behind. The boys had a great time :)

Coloring

On Saturday we went to Monroe City for Kit's Birthday. Gabe did really good on both the car ride there and back. He had a great time playing with Kit's presents, lol. The boys also had a great time playing and popping balloons :) They were very cute. I got to catch up with Kirstin and Ronnie which was nice. I didn't approve of the moving away in the first place. She's gonna come back to Columbia soon :)

Opening Presents

Now obviously you all know about the wonderful Blizzard that came through here. We officially got 17.5 inches in Columbia. My car is still stuck in my driveway. My mom had to come get me so I could go to work today. Several businesses closed due to the snow. They even closed I-70 for a day. It was really pretty even if everyone was stuck at home. I will be happy if it stops though cause it is really hard to get to work and make money when you are snowed in.

Patrick finally getting unstuck

Yesterday Patrick and I went to the movies and saw the Green Hornet. We had to get out of the house, and he finally got his truck out of my driveway so off we went. I had a great time it has been a long time since I have gone to the movies and it was really relaxing. Plus I enjoyed the Movie lol.

Gabe's Birthday is just around the corner. 9 days away. I am very excited about his party. I had a great time buying decorations now I cant wait to decorate, however it is so hard to believe that its just a little over a week till he will be TWO!!
